I occasionally like to challenge my modelling skills by modelling something I own, so I can make it as accurate as I can measure. Product photography/rendering has always interested me and watch photography/rendering is a whole different challenge in itself. Although I was happy with my modelling and materials, I spent a lot of time figuring out how I wanted to showcase this model. I looked at many examples of interesting and unique watch photography that used colours, lines and shapes instead of a blank, infinite studio set up. I eventually settled on using the blue and white of the watch for the background, and lit each shot individually to highlight certain parts of the watch.
